Nature Turns
RSA
Recently I was pleased to exhibit my large painting ‘Glimmer’ 130cm x 110cm as part of ‘Nature Turns’, an exhibition to mark 200 years of the RSA.
There was work by 30 artists including painting, printmaking, drawing, photography and sculpture, the exhibition explores calm and solace in the natural world through winter scenes and subjects.
Winter can be seen as a season of contrasts, outwardly still and restrained yet quietly preparing for transformation. Nature turns reflects this dual character, inviting viewers to contemplate the quiet beauty of the season and the sense of renewal that comes with the turning of the year.

By Osmosis
A solo exhibition | OpenSpaces 2025
18 October - 9 November | 11 - 5 daily
‘By Osmosis’ featured a selection of recent paintings, including the first public showing of my ambitious 5.1m panoramic landscape, ‘Cloudbreak’.
I have travelled to remote areas of Arctic Norway and Iceland in pursuit of the fleeting light that defines those northern landscapes. Yet more recently, I’ve become aware of how the familiar rhythms of the Cumbrian countryside that surrounds me continues to shape my imagery, often beyond conscious intention.
This was my first local exhibition since returning home five years ago. Reimagining our traditional Lake District barn into a place to show my art felt like a homecoming, a return to the source of my earliest creative influences.
I hosted the exhibition as part of the Visual Artists Association’s OpenSpaces 2025, a global artist-led art trail transforming unusual and everyday spaces.
